Mutant Flora: Nuclear Fear, Human Interference, and Nature's Resilience

Inspired by a childhood visit to Dungeness nuclear power station and shaped by 1980s popular culture, this project explores the theoretical impact of radiation on botanical life through digital manipulation, AI speculation, and hand-embroidered thread paintings. My work examines how nuclear exposure might distort plant forms, capturing the unsettling tension of radiation’s invisible effects—where nature mutates into something eerily unfamiliar, resilient, and strangely beautiful.
